Established in 1882, the Chippewa Woolen Mill in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, played a pivotal role in the local economy by providing warm, durable clothing for lumber industry workers. By the 1920s, it had become the city's largest employer, with around 100 workers producing high-quality woolen goods. The mill operated until 1962, when it closed due to the rise of synthetic fabrics.
